Two northeast Oklahoma entities, Premier Logistics (Tulsa County) and Heavy Metal Training Institute (Big Cabin) are among the recipients of $500,000 in grants announced Thursday by the Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development.
Heavy Metal Training Institute (HMTI), the only truck driving school in Northeast Oklahoma, today announced that the school is relocating its main campus to Big Cabin, Oklahoma.
Ms. Wolf noticed a lack of opportunities for Northeast Oklahoma residents, particularly in rural communities and Native American tribes, and a local need for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training.
“We then partnered with Heavy Metal Training Institute to provide us with CDL (commercial driver’s license) training for the students and partnered with AEP and Public Service Company of Oklahoma to provide us with a bucket truck for training,” Palmer said.
