HMTI is a hands-on truck driving school providing Commercial Drivers License (CDL) training in Big Cabin, Tahlequah, and Muskogee, Oklahoma. Endorsements and company training are also available. Students must be 18 years of age or older prior to the first day of class and possess a valid driver’s license. A formal assessment will be given in conjunction with the enrollment process.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

This four week course includes the Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) and Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI) programs. You will earn your CLP and undergo training to earn your Oklahoma CDL. This course includes CLP, PTI, defensive driving, coupling, backing maneuvers, basic road skills, commercial driver lifestyle, and more. 160 hours of hands on technical training and classroom training.


Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)

This two and a half day classroom training provides learning tools and information for you to prepare for the written exams required to obtain an Oklahoma Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). The permit is required and must be held for no less than 14 days to be eligible for the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) road skills exam. 20 hours of classroom training.


Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI)

This is a two and a half day program designed to teach you the proper method of completing a pre-trip inspection for commercial vehicles. This course includes general vehicle safety and inspection, engine and parts identification, coupling identification, trailer safety and examination, in-cab inspection, and air brake testing. PTI is required to obtain an Oklahoma CDL. 20 hours of hands-on technical training.


Commercial Endorsements (CE)

This is a two day classroom training for current CDL holders designed to provide learning tools and information for the following CDL endorsements: Double/Triples (T), Tank Vehicle/Tanker (N), Hazardous Materials/HAZMAT (H), or Tanker/HAZMAT Combo (X).


School Bus Permit (SB)

This two day program is for those needing to prepare for the written exams required to obtain a School Bus Permit (SB). This program covers general knowledge, Passenger (P), School Bus (S), and Air Brake endorsements. This course if for a permit only.
